This is the ideology that The Round Table India (RTI) lives by. The Round Table India envisioned the education of the underprivileged children of the country through spreading awareness of fitness for all.

Yes! This dream was realized 5 years ago by giving birth to a fundraising sporting event in Kolkata, the funds from which would be used towards supporting the education of the needy. The Ladies Circle India and RTI joined hands to mold this possibility into a reality. Together, they established the ever-enlarging foundation of Run For Education – an endeavor that took the pledge of bettering the society back in 2014, and has only taken flourishing footsteps forward with the years.

With runners, athletes, corporates, college-goers, homemakers, and people coming from every walk of life coming together, this Half Marathon race sees the participation of over 8,000 participants across the City of Joy – Kolkata!

In RFE we live by our unputdownable zeal to bring education to the needy. We give it our all and live to see the children from the underprivileged homes go to school. These children belong to houses of peasants, farmers, carpenters, etc. who are deprived of some of the basic amenities of life in this developing country. The funds raised from RFE are used towards building classrooms for identified schools in and around the city. We try supporting them with optimum infrastructure to accommodate students and give them the opportunity to learn, to dream, to aspire, and to achieve.

The 2014 leg of RFE worked to fund ‘Sarada Sishu Mandir’. The 2015 edition of RFE worked towards funding ‘Katadanga Kendra Vidhyalaya’.

In 2016 and 2017, the funds were used to build classrooms and other facilities in ‘Champdani Ram Dulari Hindi High School’ and ‘Fort Gloster Prathmik School’ respectively.

It was Fort ‘Kanchidiha Saraswati Shishu Mandir Vill Krishananagar’ in 2018 which received all the funding from RTI’s Run For Education and gave its students a newer and better schooling environment to thrive in.

This year too, Run For Education is dedicated to the cause of making education easier and more available to the children who need it most, thus uplifting our country from the evil of ignorance and poverty.
