How fundraiser events can help the underprivileged in our society

“God gave you two hands one belongs to you and the other to your fellow man.”

If every person believes in this thought, there would be no one going to sleep hungry and no child left uneducated. We are the more privileged ones of the society, and as we live in our comfortable beds we do tend to forget the section that has no roof over their heads or a meal to eat. If god has been so kind to us, it is for a reason. The reason is to help the people he could not help because he was busy helping us. So it is our responsibility now to help them rise.

We can donate money, give them clothes but the awareness of the problems faced by them still lacks amongst us. However organising events helps them on a larger scale and the awareness amongst the people increases, which leads to the upliftment of the society as a whole.

‘Airtel Run for Education’ is a similar initiative taken by Round Table India to help the underprivileged children. This event will witness 7000+ participants, which might seem small in number, but the ripple effect of the same will be in 7 lakh. Even though people don’t turn up for the event, they are aware about the problems and issues and they will come forward to help the children one way or the other. RTI provides such people a platform to enjoy while doing the same. They can come with their business associates, family members and friends run in the marathon have a good Sunday and help the society. This event has something good for everybody. Once people start enjoying such events, they want to organise and be a part of them more often.

For us paying a small of  amount money for a run probably means nothing, but even if that small amount is multiplied  with 7000, and that is a huge contribution to someone’s education. Events like these make a huge difference to the upliftment of the underprivileged section and there cannot be too many of these. We have to join hands and help the rest of India to grow. If we don’t help the children today, tomorrow we will not have educated leaders, teachers or employees and 650 Rupees is a small price today so that we don’t suffer tomorrow.

Please be a part of ‘Airtel Run for Education 2015’ which is bigger and better from last year, help someone and light up their world for the rest of their lives.
